Hi, I’m David Rosenthal
Hi, I’m David Rosenthal, a private voice over coach and teacher with almost 30 years of experience in the industry. I’ve voiced over one thousand commercials, video games and corporate narrations, but my real passion is teaching others how to channel their own creative energy in a way that’s fulfilling and leads to actual work. To succeed at voice over, you’ll need 3 essential ingredients: A vibrant, unbridled and intuitive sense of play, expert training, both initial and ongoing, and the availability to work. You may be surprised to hear that “a great voice” is not on the list. The other surprise is that “play” is. My philosophy, first and foremost, is that learning how to be a voice over artist should be creative and fun. It should bring a smile to your face and promote a sense of discovery and innovation in your heart. Play, that unstoppable desire to experience, to create and to imagine, can be the very energy that drives your career. Play breathes life into the words you are reading. Play frees you and helps you lift the copy from the page, which convinces listeners that they are not being read to but instead, participating in something real. Not an easy task, but that’s where I come in. It takes the right learning environment and the right coach to cultivate and recapture that childlike sense of play. Working with me, you’ll get both.
